The King and Queen, Caterham

Unspoilt old Fuller's pub, with a compact L-shaped single-storey front bar and three more rooms further back with higher ceilings, all with fairly plain traditional furniture but interesting local history pictures and artifacts. London Pride, Hophead, HSB (£6.20) and ESB being served from the two banks of three handpumps. Pride Lager (a new one on me) also noted on the keg taps.

Last time I came here this was a Charrington's pub, but that was several decades ago. I can't say I remember it particularly but the interior looks as though it probably hasn't changed a great deal, with a jumbled collection of rooms, trad furnishings and a good collection of pub tat. Ales on were Fullers ESB, London Pride, Hop Head and Sambrooks Evergreen. A pleasant and proper pub with some decent beer.
