The Old Cannon, Bury St. Edmunds

Closed at 10:30 in spite of everything published saying 11:00pm. We all know you can’t trust any published opening hours whither from Camra, Google or even the pubs own social media or website. Such is the case here and their website does not give you a valid choice to refuse cookies which I believe is in breach of the regulations. I fully respect their right to shut early if there’s not enough custom, after all pubs are businesses and are not run for the benefit of punters. It’s in the GBG2027 and I was tempted to score them an “undrinkable” as I couldn’t drink anything. Self proclaimed as a “gastro brewery” it’s a fairly bland room with the counter on the right next to a couple of brewing vessels which may or may not be in use. A row of six beer engines serve their own beers.
