Brew+Bao, Chapel Allerton, Leeds

More a street food restaurant with beer than bar, a bao is a far eastern bun. The ground floor is split into halves on slightly different floor levels, the partly covered front area is on the level but the covered bit is non-smoking while the open bit is for smokers. Mostly white tile covered walls inside with low seating to the right and high to the left in cafe style. The counter is at the back with a set of three hand pumps to each side with T-Bars as well. Two beers from Brew York (the operators) and a guest from Anthology, just one cider on the second set. Given who runs it the kegs are more interesting. Five screens list the drinks Untapped style while a sixth was on sport. Piped music prevailed. Disabled toilet downstairs the others on the first floor.

Kith & Kin has now had a roof added to the outside seating area so you can nod have a drink or meal outside even when it is raining. Once inside there is a decent sized oblong shaped room which has a bar to the rear, the room is bare boarded, the seating is tall tables and chairs and tall bench seating to the left, the front right area is down one step, the seating here is bench type and normal tables and chairs, there was a TV to the left which was showing BBC news. There was one real ale on which was Sharps Atlantic, this was a decent enough drink. The pub was packed with family diners on my Saturday dinner visit. The background music was crap. Not really my sort of place, but at least it did one real ale which is a bonus. Pub visited 16/7/2016
