One of a group of McPubs in this busy shopping and social centre, this is Loungers's contribution to the area. It's a square corner unit, glass fronted on two sides, with a narrow outside umbrella-covered seating area at the front, offering a great view of the car park. Smaller than most Loungers, they have made a token effort with the lampshades and pictures, while the faux-gym floor looks even more contrived than most others. That said, it's predictable and you know what you're getting, both in terms of fare and clientele. The young staff are still in need of development especially the young barmaid who served us and couldn't get her head around the concept of a full pint; her supervisor rescued the day, though. No cask ale or real cider, of course, just the fairly standard keg array of Kaleidoscope, Murphy's Stout, Henry Weston's, Modelo Lager, Moretti, Cruzcampo and a fruit concoction from Old Mout.
