The Royal Oak (JD Wetherspoon), Dorchester

I only entertained visiting this Spoons because I was in town a bit early, convenience is one of their few plus points. Inside is split into a couple of areas, the place was less than half full yet the majority of vacant tables were left uncleared from earlier punters. I found a lightly crumb covered table to sit, one of the more hygienic options with a half of Exmoor Gold, the nearby cluttered tables were eventually cleared about twenty minutes into my half hour stay but the tables remained unwiped for the duration, quite frankly disgusting and enforces my dislike of the venues. The beer was acceptable but still had a faint musty taint. Poor

Split levelspoons with a bit more going for it than the usual. Good beer and service
