Village pub that was unique in my crawl of Leicestershire pubs in that it was the only one of 10 I visited not reviewed by Quinno! The car park was quite full when I arrived and this was another pub holding a Tuesday night quiz. There are a couple of entrances to the pub. I should have taken the one on the right but instead chose the left-hand one which led me straight into a cafe area.

Both the pub and the cafe area had all tables taken, meaning I had to retreat to a rear conservatory where a few other non-quiz participants had gathered.

The pub only had their 2 regular cask ales - Bass & What The Fox's Hat. 3 other handpulls were unclipped. I did notice quite a few varieties of bottled ciders, especially from Lilley's. Service from the barmaid was friendly and cheerful.

The pub has a number of TVs, which were off due to the quiz. Quite a few Halloween decorations were in place too. There is an outdoor patio to the right-hand side and the rear of the pub, which along with the conservatory apparently have nice views during daylight hours.

Of particular note were the gents toilets. Urinals are casks, there are some Wonder Women cartoon covers, a collection of bottle tops and another collection of denim jeans.

In spite of the limited ale selection, I quite enjoyed my visit to this community local.
