A large village pub which nicely complements the New Fountain Inn just down the road. Thee is a car park at the side and a large garden which includes a children’s play area. There is also outside seating at the front, mainly used by smokers when we visited. Inside is a large single bar which houses chairs and tables, gaming machines, TV screens showing sports, a pool table and a dartboard in one corner, as well as a book exchange. It was quite noisy due to the presence of loud children, lively locals and a juke box banging out dull pop music. They serve restaurant food at higher-then-average prices. On draught were Otter Bitter and Butcombe Original, both in good condition. Also on were Carling, Amstel, Guinness, Inch’s Cider, Moretti and Sharp’s Atlantic. A decent enough pub that I’d be happy to revisit.

Large village inn with equally large bar areas. Dining area at rear but most of pub given over to food anyway. A couple of fair beers on offer and kept well(Cask Marque listed). Pleasant enough. Note the lettering on the outbuildings which shows it was once the New Inn, and spot the former Old Inn opposite.

i can only give a 9 as Derrik is no longer there, but the pub is great, the food is fantastic and the beer always hits the spot (plus they stay open all day over the weekend so its a nice walk out for the dogs)
