E TA left this review about Red Lion Inn
A traditional village freehouse, completely unspoiled by the grockle traffic that passes through. It's part of a terrace that was once a coaching inn, though just a narrow part of the original inn remains, the remainder now residential. The front bar is friendly and functional, has a dartboard whose oche is precariously close to the front door, there are several barstools to complement the few wooden tables, and there is a TV screen balanced on an antique cabinet in one corner. A woodburner occupies the brick chimney breast, and inoffensive pop music provides a background hum. There is a second room behind, stepped up to, mainly used for dining. Both rooms have timber floors. AT the rear is a small paved patio area, part of the former courtyard. Food is basic pub grub, freshly cooked and good value. Handpumps were dispensing Otter Bitter and Buttcomb Original, both in very good condition, and there was a third dry pump. There were two boxed ciders from Sandford behind the bar, and there was a keg range of Heineken, Guinness, Amstel, Moretti, Inch's Cider and Thatcher's Gold. The landlord was friendly and welcoming, and the locals seemed like a decent bunch. I'd be very happy to stop here again when passing through.
