Blue Scrumpy left this review about The Railway
The Railway has a number of different rooms. There is a drinking area/games room to the front, the main bar in the middle and a carpeted lounge/conservatory area to the rear. The bar has laminate flooring with tiling around the bar itself. Walls are painted white with black wainscotting. There are a few black and white pictures of local sites. Plenty of TVs were showing different sports, such as cricket and snooker. Music playing in the background was diverse as Guns 'n' Roses and the Everley Brothers. Bar staff were busy putting up Halloween decorations.
There is a dartboard next to the bar, whilst there are games machines and a pool table in the front room. Wifi is available if an email address is provided. Dogs are welcome. The pub also has some patio tables to the front on the roadside and a larger rear garden, which includes 3 huts.
This is Glenfield's entry into the Good Beer Guide. Cask ales were London Pride, Proper Job & Sea Fury, with a fourth handpulls unclipped. This seemed a fairly mundane national range for a Good Beer Guide pub. I think I would have chosen the Forge Inn for the Guide instead. The cider was Inch's and coffees were available.

A lot quieter this time but still well-frequented by locals and respectable trades at 4.30pm on a Thursday. Goes back further than expected with a sunken rear extension into what was probably a lovely beer garden that is now mainly a car park. There's a small discrete room with a pool table which is accessed externally. Decor is well maintained but rather bland. Three ales on, Abbot, Bass and a weird guest stout from a brewery I hadn't heard of, on offer at £3.85. I went Bass (obvs) and got a pretty decent one (NBSS 3.5).

GBG listed place. Was unfortunate to visit on a very busy Friday night and it was standing room only. Not much to write home about, décor-wise, relatively bland. Failed to note what I had nor the NBSS score, but it certainly wasn’t enough to elicit high praise or high dudgeon. Stonegate-run. I won’t drop a score, in the context. Unrated
