Street corner pub very close to Kings Cross,open plan with lots of distressed wood on the walls and ceiling giving a grungy feel ,almost like the Antic pubs of old.There is a long bench seat along one wall,an open kitchen,a rank of small dining tables in the middle,columns then divide the bar from the rest of the pub while there is a small leg away from the bar with a banquette and more seating.Go up the scruffy stairs to the roof terrace,covered in awnings so no real views and a seperate upstairs bar with its own servery.
The pub was packed by a young crowd and very noisy,it felt like there must be a students hall of residence close by,and there was some shouting to make yourself heard over the blaring muzak.
At the bar St Austell Proper Job,but on ordering told it had run out ,at least the clip was then reversed.Youngs Original wasn't going to get ordered by me so it was the TT Landlord which was all wrong,clear but fruity in a bad way NBSS Poor.
Too hectic to be enjoyed and with poor ale conditioning ,a pub that I wont be returning to in a hurry.

Yes a typical modern Youngs refurb of an old boozer, to make it in keeping with the regeneration of the area.
Well described and unchanged from the most recent reviews below, all three hand-pumps were in operation for our visit with St Austell Proper Job and Timothy Taylor Landlord alongside Youngs Original. Between us we tried all three and they were all in decent nick and my pint of Proper Job was particularly good.
In an area of redevelopment dominated by modern craft beer bars I thought this was a decent traditional pub offering.

Typical modern refurb of an old boozer - lots of distressed wood and some arty graphics, with a small kitchen counter. It does have a roof terrace however. The keg taps are mainstream/Beavertown, with 3 handpumps offering Youngs Original, Proper Job and a Stan's Cider.
