Called in last night. A few less handpumps than in its pomp, but there were stll 5 on. My pint of Farm Yard Sheaf was in very good nick.

Definitely back up to where it used to be when it was The Beerhouse. 11 handpumps, 9 for beer and 2 for cider, all operating last night. My pint of Pictish Beaca & a half of Norfolk Brewhouse Moon Gazer were both in excellent condition. The 2 friendly bar staff were also a massive positive. A must visit pub again now. It wasn't grubby on Friday night.

Originally reopened as a gastro pub in early 2009. The gastro side of the pub now seems to have retreated a bit and it now feels more like a pub than when it first reopened. Now has 8 handpumps, on Tuesday 6 were serving ale and two real cider. I had a Shaws Ashton Masher and a Stringers West Coast Blond, both were in good nick as was the other halfs Copper Dragon Golden Pippin. It's getting back to where it was again.

Re-visited on a Saturday evening in July. Six hand pulls as noted previously, but only three on when I visited, including their own Fallen Angel ale. A fallen angel indeed, compared to the cask offering of years gone by, but perhaps I just got unlucky.

Still worth a visit but perhaps doesn't have the same appeal as it once did.

Corner pub with a couple of different entrances. It used to be one of my favourite pubs in Manchester but has gradually gone downhill, as the cask ale range has diminished. So, I hadn't been in for over 5 years when I returned on a Monday evening.

4 cask ales were on - Siren Memento, Pennine Hair of the Dog & Eyam Bubonic Plague & Ring o'Roses. Craft beers were Super 8 Peach, Abbeydale Serenity, Liquid Mistress Red IPA, Farm Yard Chaff & Siren Lumina. My Bubonic Orange was fairly nice and consumed as the pub was getting set for a quiz night.

Whilst the pub still does look a little forlorn from the outside, the interior feels a little bit more cosy. Still worthy of including on a crawl but not what it once was.
