A Victorian looking (assume 1860s) corner pub (hotel) with pilastered frontage. Inside it has had its internal rooms opened out, sympathetically, to form a kind of U-shape around the central bar. One area has a pool table, another sofas, another a small stage. To celebrate Oktoberfest many tables were pushed together and covered to give a trestle table look. Decorated in green and red salt glazed tiles with some patterned wallpaper and with several Garibaldi pictures. No TV. Service was good and a few matures were in at our visit. Just one ale on, Roman Way Germania - in fitting with Oktoberfest - which was good. Nice pub, needs a little more on the beer front.

Ok off centre bar, the beer on my visit was poor and there was a clothes sale taking over the pub, but decent enough place

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Garibaldi Hotel
Traditional(ish) corner pub, although what is now a U-shaped bar has no doubt been remodelled at some stage. Doing excellent business on a Thursday evening, with a mostly younger crowd in for the quiz night. Also has a large beer garden out in the side yard. I was perhaps expecting more than two of the six handpumps to be in use in a Good Beer Guide pub, but I found just a couple of Roman Way cask beers being served: Venus (£4.20) and Senate Gold.
