Two room pub with an arrowhead shape, obviously near the station, reopened recently by the people behind the Draughtsman Alehouse on the station Platform 3B. A larger front bar with the counter and a small snug behind on the left. It looks smaller inside than the outside suggests but I couldn’t find a third room. The beer board lists 20 draught products, four are cask beers from pulls mid counter, there’s a cider, a semi sparkling wine and the rest are keg in various styles. A number of the kegs are nice foreign beers and there are some decent bottles. A mix of seating, wirey metal stools, leather armchairs, low uncomfortable looking benches and chairs and tables. Slightly odd as a drinking place. Little decor mainly a few European beer adverts.

The Railway, as was, has reopened as The Railway Alehouse, having been acquired by the team behind the nearby Draughtsman Alehouse.

Called in today to find four hand pulls at the bar, though only one was clipped and that was "coming soon" due to conditioning. The remaining three were clipped with generic Cask Marque clips. There was nobody at the bar to serve, so that saved me any embarrassment when I walked back out.

Inside there is a fairly long bar in a big rectangular room with old school furniture; the whole look reminded me of an old Working Man's Club. There did appear to be a further room behind the bar but did not investigate this.

There was an old gent at a table supping a pint and reading the paper. Given its proximity to the train station I was surprised that he appeared to be the only sign of life in the place (and describing him as such is a bit of a stretch of the imagination).

Not a place I would be particularly inclined to go out of my way to revisit but if I was passing I would perhaps give it another go if they had any real ales on.
