The White Swan is an estate pub a short walk west from the town centre. I thought it was closed, especially when I tried to open the locked door adjacent to the empty car park. I was about to give up when a passing cab driver directed me to the other side of the pub where the entrance is found through an iron gate. Not completely obvious, but I was glad to find it open as I needed a piss after the walk out of town. Inside is an L-shaped interior with an L-shaped bar counter that faces the entrance and seating across the front windows. Standard keg was available alongside Madri. At the rear are some high tables and a pool area. Sky Sports is advertised, but the entertainment early on a recent Wednesday evening was country music. This is an OK local boozer that had a strong crowd in with ages ranging from toddler to potterer, however it’s not going to attract anyone from further afield.

I didn't see much of this detached 60s looking estate pub that is, in fact, right on the edge of Dudley town centre. There is a small rear patio - which is why I didn't see much as it was a warm day and rather than see Enland losing at the cticket - which was on a couple of TVs in the pub - I went outside. There is a large L-shaped room curving around the bar, with a pool table at one end. The music was at a decent level. Service was friendly and a mixed clientele was in. There is no real ale, but I had a Birra Moretti that was more than welcome. A happy enough visit.

This is has recently changed hands and I was very impressed with the Scottish couple running the place. Good family atmosphere with some good Irish / country music on jukebox. Will make this a regular trip
