I think my first visit to this pub may have been when I first moved to Sheffield, or possibly even earlier, so about 30 years ago. It was fairly rough and ready then, but it's been brought kicking and screaming into the 21st century, thanks to one of Robinsons more elaborate refurbishments. The two buildings, one facing the road, the other towards Mam Tor, are fully amalgamated in one continuous room, with modern pub furnishings everywhere. One of my drinking companions liked it (predictably) while the other mourned the loss of the old gadgies who used to nurse their pints and roll-ups (also predictably). There were four beers on the bar (see photo), and my pint of Unicorn was quite possibly as good as I've had it (NBSS 4). I'm not a fan of most of Robinsons beers, but there's no denying that beer of this quality is worth crossing the road for.

Huge Robinsons Pub.

I was there after the diners have left, so a bit spartan with people.

The Unicorn was in perfect condition.

The Bulls Head is a Robinsons tied house at the far end of Castleton and close to the whinnetts pass, its not bad inside and sells a decent pint of Robinsons Unicorn bitter.
