Large Everard's pub. Unlike the two previous reviewers, I didn't attempt a front entrance, preferring instead to go straight in the rear from the pub's large car park. Inside, there is one long bar with seating areas all along it. Most of the pub has fairly low beamed ceilings, bare boards and tiling around the bar. Walls are exposed stone painted dark green and hold a few black and white pictures. The one end is carpeted and has a high ceiling. This area seemed to be favoured by diners. There is some outdoor patio seating to the rear too.
Games machines can be found opposite the bar. TVs were showing BBC News. There is a pub quiz every Sunday.
At the bar, there are two banks of 5 handpulls, one being a repeat of the other. Regular cask ales are Everard's Tiger & Old Original. Guests were Everard's Roller Coaster & Pheasantry Dancing Dragonfly, with the fifth handpull reserved for Weston's Rosie's Pig. Everard's Riptide was on keg, whilst cocktails are listed behind the bar. My Roller Coaster tasted very fruity, like it hadn't been pulled through. I ended up leaving a little. It was only when trying a similar tasting beer in another pub that I realised my taste buds had been heavily impacted by the Fruit Pastilles I'd consumed on the journey here. Doh!

Very extensive Everards place. Alan’s observation about the lack of front entrance still holds true. Done-out contemporaneously but quite tidy with a bit of atmosphere. To the left is a nice raised warren of a dining area (be prepared to be chased by staff if you wander in there with a drink) and to the right is the bar area. It was a bit dark in here (another Winfield observation from 2011!), could do with some lightning-up from the oppressive green paint. Four ales on, 3x Everards and a guest from Lincoln Green. My Old Original was pretty good (NBSS 3.5). Will have another crack at this one and see how consistent it is. 6.5

The Forge is an old pub on the western side of Glenfield.
The front door to this pub is closed and you now have to enter the pub from the car park at the back, once inside there was one long narrow room with the bar facing there was also a raised area to the left this room was quite dimly lit and had some daft music playing on the sound system and was the sort that nobody knows who does it.There were different types of seating with a few chesterfield settees dotted about the place and a TV was on but no sound coming from it.
This pub is an Everards tied house but it is not signed in their usuall manner though there is a small sign at the rear saying Everards.
There were three real ales on here and i had a drink of Everards Beacon bitter and this was quite a nice drink the other beers were Everards Tiger bitter and Original.
There were a few other drinkers in here but i think this pub is trying to cater for the 30s type professionals and not normal drinkers like myself.
