Visited on a Friday afternoon in August. Eight hand pulls at the bar with two of those off. Three clipped for cider (of which two were Lilley's) leaving just three ales. This venue is Untappd Verified but as I have found with this chain recently, you cannot rely on the menu being up to date, and indeed on this occasion it did not tally.

This is kitted out in a different style to the usual Head of Steam so perhaps it was a bar previously that they have taken over without changing too much. As you enter, there is a long bar down the left hand side, and booths to the right wall, with low tables and chairs in the centre. There is a pool table to the rear. Toilets are upstairs.

Food is served.

The ale I had was OK, but I would have liked a bit more choice. I'd give it another go.

The Head of Steam has a bar along the left wall that faces tables down the centre and booth seating up the right. At the rear is a pool table. The bar supports premium keg and I counted seven handpumps, one was off and one had three Lilley’s Cider clips stuck to it. The ale choice was Thornbridge’s Jaipur, Brass Castle Brewing’s Session Mini IPA, Mobberley Concept #, Three Brother’s Mild Ale and Cameron’s Sanctuary and Boathouse. The service was polite.

Typical Head of Steam Bar - some great beers, including a fridge full of Belgians, complete with the presentation glasses.
