A modern craft type bar run by Windsor & Eton and sitting by the river. A long thin place with a metal clad counter to the right and with square metal tube tables with thick plank tops and slightly comfortable chairs. Board floors and eccentric decor of mirrors and pictures but you couldn’t describe this as an alehouse. Two horseshoes with five of their brews on one and a mix of five on the other. There are two pulls at the far end but only their Knight of the Garter was being dispensed. They seem to have a tie up with a pizza firm called Slap Slap who offer a range of more unusual flavoured, or is it topped? ones.

A tap for the Windsor & Eton brewery,hence the name,it's a modern bar situated on the Kingston Riverside walk.Long and thin inside,with an ale house feel ,the large plate glass windows and mostly high tables give views of the Thames outside,but the path in wide so these views are limited.There are external pic nic style tables for good weather drinking.
Pizze are available and evening events are advertised,but it was quiet on my lunchtime visit.The bar has a series of taps offering keg W&E indie beers ,on my trip Republika,Canberra,Shout,Storm London Dry Stout and Solar plus some fruited beers.These options were almost exclusively low ABV choices and only the dry stout a style variance as I'm never sure about "fruited " beers.My Solar,an inoffensive pale , at £7.40 was a rip off.
There are two sparkling ciders and two taps marked at cask offering W&E Guardsman and Knight of the Garter which I should have tried ,but I find those ales dull.
A brewery tap should celebrate the very best of their output and showcase the various styles that they brew sadly this bar didn't deliver on that premise and so I will keep walking next time.Dog friendly if you are walking the pooch.CAMRA opening times are wrong,it's noon daily.

This one's not changed much since Maldenman's visit some 5 years ago. There's still the rather Antic-esque mixed bag of furnishings, but that's where any similarity ends as this one looks like the finished article. I did spot a couple of booths at the far end of the room that had skateboards as seats, which is a new one on me.

There are still the pair of handpumps, which they claim are used exclusively for local ales. And so it was when I visited at lunchtime last week, with Kew Brewery Pagoda No 4, and Brightwater Brewery Daisy Gold (£4 a pint) both available. They clearly do food at lunchtime as I saw plenty of food being whisked past my table, but I didn't get to examine a menu.

The main attraction of this place is its location right on the river, and I have to say it was most pleasant sitting outside on a sunny day watching the swans swim past while sinking an excellent pint. This place is more bar than pub, but the presence of two decent ales not from the ranks of the usual suspects certainly make it worth a visit, especially if you can bag one of the outside tables on a nice day.
