The reversion to the pub's original name didn't bring it good fortune, and now it's been rebranded as a Six Barrel Drafthouse. (I've been to a couple of these in Nottingham and they were ok without filling me with enthusiasm.) But they're trying to do modern beers in a bright and cheerful fashion, so let's hope it works.
There are six hand pumps on the bar counter, and the same number of keg taps on the bar back, though a cider occupies one of the former. All these are listed on a blackboard at the end of the bar area, with a display of pump clips to let us know what will be coming soon. It looks like Landlord and White Rat are the well-known regulars, though I did hear a customer ask for a taster of the latter, with perhaps less well known guests coming from local breweries like Dancing Duck, Abbeydale, Little Critters and Neepsend. On the crafty keg side, expect Vocation, Dreya and Siren... and Neepsend. My pint of the Ossett was pretty decent (scored 3.5 in old money, so Very Good nowadays) and just £4.20 which is not bad for the city centre. (Landlord is £5.30, though.) It was busy here on a Saturday afternoon, so maybe I'll come back on a quiet Tuesday and see how they're getting on.

Just a quick pint, then I'm off left this review about The Foresters
Traditional corner pub with a comfortable emerald-green refurbished interior in the bar and music areas (although the counter has obviously moved at some point as it's slightly oddly placed behind a partly opened-up wall). Thornbridge's Lord Marples (£4.80) and White Wolf from Little Critters available from the pair of handpumps, Guinness from a retro illuminated twin-tap font and up to 14 standard and more crafty keg beers available from Irish-style wood-fronted founts.

My first visit hear since meeting Alan here for a brief crawl nearly four years ago (see below). There were eight keg fonts and the same two hand pumps on the bar still, though thankfully they were not offering either Easy Rider or anything from Thornbridge. With a choice of a house beer from Abbeydale called The Beat Goes On 4.1% or a smoked porter from Ilkley, I went for the former. This was probably a mistake as, to judge by the abv and the blandness, this was probably just Deception rebadged. Ah well, we live and learn.
I quite liked the lively cafe-bar atmosphere at the time of my visit, with a good soundtrack and a mixed clientele of student types, male and slightly predominantly female, plus a handful of blokes my age. The walls and pillars are painted a deep sea green and the tiled bar counter has the pub's name picked out in black letters on white tiles, which must come in handy at times.
