Visited in August. Two banks of hand pulls with various guests across them. The guest ale I had from Settle was decent. Fairly quiet at the time of my midweek lunchtime visit, but it is quite a large pub so people bring spread out may have created the illusion of it being quieter than it was.
A beer garden is signposted to the rear. Toilets are upstairs and are modern and clean.
Efficient service with plates being cleared promptly - although perhaps a bit too eager as someone tried to swipe my glass before I had finished!

Named after the bandmaster of the ill-fated Titanic, born in Colne, who continued to play his violin as the ship went down. Opened in 2008. Sedately and tastefully decorated - ‘a respectable Spoons’ - to quote the sadly departed Ray below and his interior description still holds. 7 (SEVEN) guest ales with a range of strengths and styles. My Northern Whisper Oppenchops was very good (NBSS 4). Well-worth getting off the train and climbing the hill for. Mildly surprised this isn’t GBG listed.

A very respectable Spoons this one that has been tastefully finished. The main features in here was the black glazed tiles along the bar front and ceiling columns throughout the pub, there was also a lot wall sections finished with patterned silver wallpaper. The rest of the walls were finished in oak panelling. Ten handpumps, with seven in use, we went for the Worsthorne Blonde Violin, which was in great shape.
