We tried to contact the Bryn Tyrch in advance to see if and when they were open. However, we received a response in garbled English to say that they were closed for a function on the day we were hoping to visit. With other places also closed, we delayed our visit and contacted them again to check our new proposed date. The same message came back that there was a function. I did ask them if they could suggest any times when they weren't closed for a function, but received no replies.

When finally in Capel Curig, we arrived to find the car park opposite with quite a few vehicles on it. So, we thought we'd try our luck. We soon discovered that the bar area to the left of the building is closed and the rest of the premises have been converted to an Air B n B accommodation. Needless to say, there was no "function" at all, but I'm still confused as to why they would try to conceal that they were closed. Certainly very strange behaviour. Perhaps they intend to re-open the bar at a future date. However, there is no way of knowing as unfortunately communication is not their strongest point. For now, the Bryn Tyrch Inn is very much closed.
