Old school Spoons very busy on a Monday evening on arrival at about 8pm. L shaped venue with some decent space out the back, popular on a Spring evening with half decent weather. Don’t know the history but this must have been part of the JDW empire for surely 30 years or so. Not much around so understandably popular but can’t imagine many are here tonight for the quality of the cask offering!

Plenty of typical Spoons keg offerings but on the cask front in addition to the stalwarts that are Ruddles, Doom Bar, Abbot and Exmoor Gold was my choice of a decent pint of JHB from Oakham.

I like this old school spoons venue, nothing exceptional but something to please for everyone at decent prices. My JHB was less than £3 and was really enjoyable. This must be an important community asset and it was well supported. Plea to Tim M is to not give up this sort of venue where there aren’t alternatives for locals. A number of such JDW’s have been given up and found alternative sponsors quickly but there are often local alternatives. No suggestion JDW giving up but there is really no alternative if you did and no one took this place on (even through it must be possible always to make a viable venue here).

Rather light and bright interior with lots of glasswork, but otherwise a fairly standard 'Spoon's. It did have a couple of interesting beers on offer and quality was fine, although they seemed a bit short of staff and used glasses were building up round the pub, which is not a great sign. it does offer 3 hours parking in car park at rear, if you can get in.

Low grade Wetherspoon's with little to recommend it. Two remarkably cheerful ladies trying to copy with a busy early evening crowd plus the usual selection of people who use it as a canteen; indeed as it is mainly laid out like a canteen that's not surprising. E grade beer range, Abbot, Ruddle's, Broadside: a couple of more interesting beers like Titanic White Star were "coming shortly". I didn't dare ask how long shortly might be.

It's a perfectly serviceable pub for the community, not that they've got any other usable choice without getting a bus, but I wouldn't bother again.
