Old Boots left this review about The Grapes

A large corner pub of Greene King, marked as a Meet & Eat venue which suggests some sort of middle market dining pub; nope it’s a typical rough town centre pub. U shaped with perhaps a lounge to the left and definitely a public bar to the right. Banquettes to the left vertical drinking among tables and chairs with screen and machine on your right. Pulls on both ends of the counter but mostly the right side is used, only Abbot on cask with IPA clip reversed and a blank third, the barmaid sniffed the Abbot before she finishing pulling it so she was as worried as I was - it turned out to be adequate. Toilets (gents) and a smoking area cum yard to the rear right. Ladies toilets at the rear left.

Strongers . left this review about The Grapes

The Grapes is a laminate floored L-shaped Greene King pub with banquettes along the front window to the left of the entrance and up the left to some lime green banquettes across the rear. A central L-shaped serving counter supports two banks of three doubled up hand pumps that were drawing IPA, Abbot Ale and Old Speckled Hen. To the right of the counter is more seating and, in amongst some vinyl records hung on the right-hand wall, a television was airing BBC News. I thought the manager was very friendly, but this pub is easily forgettable, and I’ll be walking past next time I’m in town.

Real Ale Ray left this review about The Grapes

Still a GK pub with nothing of interest on the bar, we called in early eve midweek and the jukebox was blurring away. Only two undesirable drinkers in the place so did a sharp exit.
