I have passed this place a few times whilst ticking off NW6 venues and so today was the day where this one bubbled up to the top of my list - OK it has been a long day and this was the first one I came to on Kilburn High Road after exiting Kilburn tube station. It was open sold beer what more could I ask for? Interior well described below but first thing I noticed was the choice of the dark green colour for the walls and ceiling (which was pleasantly high). The corner spot with good illumination with the big front and side windows coupled with engineered wooden floor and music at a tolerable level made for a pleasant space.

As noted this is a GK venue and the two beers on hand pump were Abbot and IPA, which was a rare choice for me but in good nick. Loads of shiny taps dispensing amongst others their own lager and keg IPA, the Cali Pale from Tiny Rebel and the Beavertown stalwarts. All in all a pretty insipid beer range as expected in such an establishment. My uplift by a point for the nice venue immediately reduced by the beer range so a middle of the road 5 from me. Venue was pretty quiet and so I suspect others share the same average view as me on this one.

I visited the North London Tavern on Friday, July 10th. It was my first trek out to pubs after the opening day. So, I still wasn't quite sure how each pub was operating. This pub was requesting reservations be made. But nothing was showing as available for the day of our visit. The problem with reservations for drinking is that pubs don't know how long patrons will stay for, unlike diners, where you could typically allow 90 minutes.

Luckily, we strolled in and tables were available. After being recorded for track and trace, we were shown to a table. Luckily we passed the bar, allowing us to see the selection. Being a Greene King establishment, there was just IPA & Abbot. But, I'd already spotted Rosie's Pig from the window. So, that was my choice.

This pub has a high ceiling and a fairly nice interior, which makes it stand out from the more workaday boozers on the High Road. As the only pub with a real cider on our short crawl of NW6, it was an unexpected bonus.

This has been very much opened out since my last visit some years ago and is far less gloomy. Well described below, minus the trugs and metal buckets on tables. Ales on offer were Sambrook's Scrumdown (£1.95 a half and a rather dull, lifeless brew), Hogsback's TEA and Greene King IPA.

This is an undemanding pub which is clearly aimed at more affluent residents but does now resemble something of a hotel bar. Real ale aside, I still prefer The Black Lion down the road.
